Fashion Flashback: How to make a sweet 90-style French get Tipped Nail
01/07/2013 14:55 They say that everything is cyclical fashion. It has often been viewed as a period of 30 years whose income trends are in style. Since the speed up of the industry (with the help of the Internet ton) and low-end brands more quickly to high-end cuts give more people access to the runway looks Mode The machine always seems to be in overdrive.
We now go through the development of cutting cycle to a 20 - or 10-year range. Therefore, the current resurgence of grunge and a club with child of the late 90s and early stunning styles. Cher Horowitz was my style icon as a pre-teen and now I find myself at creating outfits spaghetti mini dress and white stockings with plaid case once again.
Recently, each frozen door with tattoo choker necklaces and all iridescent. I find myself looking at vintage stores for ying-yang earrings and cut all my shirts in harvest plans until my floor is littered with pieces of jersey. (Extra-Tipp! bottom cut a shirt doubles as a great band!)
Last week I was wearing a light pink backpack stuffed to a party and everyone is dead to them. It was a birthday gift from my father for my 13th Birthday, and at the time, around 2002, although I think the view was a bit overwhelmed.
This brings me to my current puzzle. As citizens of the current women's race, I am obsessed with nail art. I hardly sports a bare nail, and I collect nail polish like little magical jewels that I admire and appreciate about my vanity. One afternoon I paint my nails (3.00 I find the best time to paint the nail. I was showered, I do not worry about food again and worry it's still plenty of time before I leave, so I may be more vigilant to prevent spills and stains) My friend casually suggested that I make a traditional French manicure.
"This is sooooo trash," I exclaimed without hesitation.
"Oh, I think it's pretty hot," he said
"It's just because you see too much porn," I teased him.
"No, I think it's really sexy and pretty."
I took a moment to process. Maybe the white tips are not just for women Long Iceland tan with engagement rings. Maybe there was some truth to his statement. I loved trying to perfect a square Frenchie touted as an interpolation. I thought it made me look at the height of sophistication.
Then I made a simple observation: My boyfriend is 11 years older than I, and French manicures were the style of the popular nail his teenage years. Every girl he had had a crush on in high school, a French manicure and it still connects with pretty women. That got me thinking, the French manicure is back with a vengeance come together with sneaker soles and offset double berth bun hairstyles?
I decided that I had to do for me to test my theory. I bought one of these pins after the French nail art. Whatever I sucked and it was not even real nails, but a fine aqueous ink like substance. He washed with water and could not even stand to be painted with a topcoat. Instead, he and plaster cracked. Ultimate failure. I knew I had to go old school.
I bought Rimmel French Manicure nail polish in white. It has an extra thin brush for a sharper and more precise application. I carefully painted the tips of my nails short desperately trying to make straight lines and even with my trembling hands genetically. Tthanks the other crap these genetic DAD! I do not believe it though back in style.)
It was very difficult and I get this shit all the time! I can not stress enough the excess nail polish that got on the sides of each nail as I clean up everything at the end with an acetone-soaked cotton swab planned.
The paint is thick and has an opaque line with a single layer. I let it dry with the main color for at least 10 minutes before the bold color. I went with a color that I had, OPI passion. It is a milky light paint in a nude-peach hue. I applied two coats, then a quick shot of Seche Vite for good measure and faster drying. I finished it with a little dish soap cuticles gently with a Q-tip to all presentable.
The final product? I love it. My hands look clean, soft, and sexy in the words of my friend, really. It's a little more work than a quick shot of a bright color, but certainly less time than trying to paint a micro interpretation of a flower or zebra or a bag of Doritos on your nails.
Everyone commented on my subtle chic look "back" and I intend to enjoy often bring the return of the 90s, but I'm not worried. Another revival of the 90s is probably just around the corner.
